Professional Experience

After graduating from law school, Mr. Minton served as Briefing Attorney to the Honorable Justice David Farris of the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth from 1987 to 1988.

Our practice involves both state and federal trials and appeals. Michael W. Minton is board certified in Civil Trial Law, Civil Appellate Law, and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Mr. Minton was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in May, 1987 and was also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern, Western and Eastern Districts of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Our focus has been on insurance defense and coverage litigation, property subrogation, first party insurance litigation, commercial litigation, creditors' rights and intellectual property litigation. I am a member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) and the Hood County Bar Association.

Education

Mr. Minton graduated from Austin College in 1985 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with College Honors and Departmental Honors in Philosophy.

While at Austin College, he was named a Harry S. Truman Scholar-at-large by the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation and was also awarded an H. Y. Benedict Graduate Fellowship by Alpha Chi, a college academic honor fraternity.

He received his law degree from Baylor Law School in 1986 where he was awarded a scholarship by the Leon Jaworski Foundation.
